surprise shower for #2

Friday was a fun day at work - my coworkers threw me a shower....outside the office! We never leave haha, so I was totally shocked to see everyone at Piada! Brenda (my boss) sent a secret email that the paper team (there is paper - which i do, plus other hard and soft good teams) was going out to lunch b/c we are awesome LOL. I didnt think anything about it but "sweet!". Sometimes we get "surprise and delights". I even lied to one coworker who isnt on the paper team when I saw her leaving - she claimed she was going to Target and asked if I needed anything - I lied and said I was going out later...nice Margaux, totally lied and she knew it.

Anyways, it was so sweet. Being that etiquette is you only get one shower for your first, I didnt even think about getting another (though I know people like to throw "sprinkles" sometimes for 2nd kiddos.) We dont need anything either, but they are very excited for this girl to get here. :) Thanks guys - Ill miss you during my 3 months off - no really I will :)

Of course the had yellow and gray decor!

These cupcakes are made my an old coworker who started her own bakery business and they were amazing!!!!!
It just happened that I wore gray and yellow that day too!
The most girly socks ever - of course as a joke - they all know im a tomboy :)

I have some Sperrys and now she does too! The match mine exactly but in a size 4!!

 The family!!

It was soooo windy out! Julie got the idea that I should just let the balloons go - oh goodness! It felt so odd letting them go (as you can tell by my face!!!) but up and away they went!

#2 Nursery

Its 98% done! Just a few more touches (bachans bedskirt & grandmas mobile). I love the room and I hope she does too!

Bachan made the bumper, sheets, quilt and diaper changing cover.
 Splurged on the rocker
My brother chris had this retro dresser that I repainted and added new hardware to.

My friend Jessi made the owls

Tara sent this adorable picture frame!
I made all the owl art on the walls. So much fun making stuff for her room.

Jack painted his sister some art - her name is blurred to protect the innocent till she born.

See you in 11 days (unless you decide to come sooner!)

Surprise weekend!!

What a great weekend. I feel so lucky. But of course, things dont always turn out how you plan :) Since my new car didnt have leather, Danny asked the dealship to put it in - sweet! Well they had it longer than expected BUT they were dropping the car off the vcar at our house Friday night - woo hoo! Well The guy came and I waited with Jack inside. 10 mins later Danny comes in but the guy leaves in my car - huh? Well Danny said the leather is amazing (better than the factory leather that was in my last Grand Cherokee)...BUT he was surprising me with heated seats and they didnt work!!! So the start to dannys surprise weekend wasnt as planned - though he is so thoughtful.

Then Parker peed 2 times in the house - that usually means she has a UTI - so saturday morning danny had to take her to the dr - $ spend on the apt, urine test and antibotics. Bummer.

BUT there was a #2 surprise: danny lined up my dad and stepmom to watch jack plus parker going to the neighbors while we went out for the night!!! So we packed bags and went to grandpas! We got back in the car after the dropoff and danny forgot his wallet!!! He said we had an hour+ drive so I was like "we need your wallet!". We started to drive back to our house through downtown and he pulled into this amazing hotel called the The Lofts - our home for the night - woo hoo!!! But we had to drive home to get his wallet LOL! We got back to the hotel quickly and the room was amazing - Its an old 1882 building that was renovated - we were on the 4th floor (out of 5) corner room - HUGE! The pics arent good but it was totally corrigan style, exposed ceilings, large old windows, beautiful bathroom, brick...awesome!

Even the hallways were so cool.
Dinner was at this indie-pizza joint not far from the hotel. The atmosphere wasnt that great BUT the food was super yum. Its pretty new and they only had a liqueur license so only booze but no beer or wine - crazy! After that, we walked back to the hotel then out to get some dessert and drinks (me a glass of wine) BUT every place was packed. So we tried the North Market (a venue of artists/local food booths) to get an Ohio bottle of wine and some fresh made desserts but they closed at 7! So we walked back to the hotel, had drinks and homemade cookies at the hotel restaurant - which was perfect.

After that, I took a nice bath and feel asleep in my hotel robe!

We woke up early (habit I guess), but got room service breakfast and hungout in our PJs till 10:20am. Was such a great time - danny i love you sooo much and you spoil me - im so lucky :)

Well another surprise is our friends Josh and Jessi had their kiddo on saturday! He was due on Wed but was taking his time. We were 100% sure he would just wait till the induction scheduled for this Monday but nope - came on his own! So after we checked out, we headed to OSU hospital to meet Holden! We got there and he was just finishing up his circumcision - great timing! But I have the distinct honor of being the 1st to hold him after his snip!

Hes such a cutie with lots of hair! Welcome Holden!

16 months

16 months old - some days I think he's 8 years old. The past month he has just gotten so big! Not physically LOL but he is just so smart and he wants to do it all himself.

Somehow he knew that a drill makes screws go in, so we just got him a play drill set yesterday. We will even say "wheres your drill?" and he'll get it. He takes the drill and tries to fix things...adorable.

He says "more" for more food, but also "no" when he doesnt. When he sees water on TV, ice, or rain outside he says its "wah wah" (which is great b/c he knows water isnt just in the cup!). He loves trucks and calls his favorite truck by name "backhoe". He has his own words that are close to the real things, like he calls the school bus by a group of words which isnt exactly "school bus" but he tries.

Even though he cant say words, he knows exactly what you want/mean: dinner, he goes to his chair and tries to climb it, ask where elmo is and he gets his elmo stuffed animal, ask him about the baby, and he gets the doll - hugs and kisses it - the list is endless.

He can walk up the stairs when you hold his hand - 1 foot in the front of the other.

When we are done in the tub and I say "we're all done" - he pulls the plug out and hands it to me.

He's been great with the body parts for a few months, but now you say "wheres moms ears" - he touches them - ears, nose, belly, teeth, tongue, head...on you.

Danny has even got him picking up and putting away his toys! You say "toys away" and he puts them in the toy bins!

Jack will also now play catch - well he wont catch but he will throw when you ask him too - good arm kid!

Im so proud of him and cant wait for him to teach his new sister the ropes!

This Vday was done in parts :) Jack had his school Vday party on Friday the 10th because thats the day all the kids are there. Jack brought cards for his friends and was in charge of the cheese platter - in the shape of a heart of course :)

Jack painted some hearts for his grandmas and great grandmas!

Sunday I woke up and made the boys pink pancakes! Danny got his in the shape of hearts - awww.

Monday, Grandma and Jack made me a special card - i love it!

Monday night, Danny made me my favorite dinner - linguine with clam sauce. So good. He also made some chocolate covered strawberries - he's so clever. Love that man. Hope everyone had a great Vday this year!

36.5 weeks and counting!

37 weeks (full term) this weekend! Though I feel like she is about to drop out at any time!!
