nursing 101...

Well tonight was my nursing 101 class - i must say, i wasnt as creeped out as I thought I would. I took my mom so danny wouldnt have to suffer (plus the Buckeyes and good preseason football was on!) Besides me and 2 other women, the dads were there - maybe 10 or 11 of them. I was shocked and felt bad for them.

1st off, I took the wrong exit to the hospital - only realized after we grabbed some McD's...after a 15 mins redirect, we get to class late. Danny has driven to the 2 times we've gone to St Ann's so I blame that :)

Mom and I drew funny pictures in the booklet and were kinda loud. Im pretty sure people hated us. My favorite "question" some girl asked was "is it safe to go tanning while breast feeding? I heard it warms the milk"...ok really lady? she shouldnt have been allowed to reproduce.

Anyhoo - it was very fun and not as bad as I thought :)

The football hold! I did that one with my son for a long time since he was so small. If you have any questions or want my number to talk about concerns or questions about breast feeding let me know, I breast fed my kids till Noah was 2.5 and Hanna was 3. Pretty much I was a milk machine for almost 5 years and yes I did breast feed them both at the same time lol.

oh my god, you and that doll are hilarious.

hope you learned a lot! i'm pretty sure they'll be sending a lactose nurse to your room after having jack.

getting super excited yet?

Colleen has a good point but make sure you ask the nurses about it otherwise they may not send a lactation nurse to your room.

the lactation nurses are hilarious! for real - they come in and squeeze the living bejesus out of your boob. and then release and grab at a different angle, ha ha! they will literally grab the nipple (and surrounding area) and shove it down jack's throat to make sure it's deep enough and a good hold. ha ha ha ha - you've got some fun in store my friend ;-)
