Home sweet home

I finally updated my iPhone software (I skipped OS6 bc jack loves YouTube and they removed the app lol) but I did OS7 and I love the panoramic camera shots. I just started snapping the house! Well we have a lot to do still but it's coming along! And jack hates the new YouTube app...me too actually!

It's the "every week they grow up faster and faster" stage

Riley is such a big girl now I can't get over it. Last week she started the cot at school and her teacher says she is amazing on it - never gets up and goes right out. She kicks/dribbles a soccer ball!! She even sits on the big girl swing.

She says yes or shakes her head (she's been saying no forever) so it's nice to ask her questions and get a real answer! Example: do you want pancakes? Yes! Just like her brother she likes "trucks", "dinosaurs, and "planes". Always pointing them out while we drive (ok not dinos). But even a mixing truck she says truck then moves her hands in a circle like the cement drum!

She follows directions (usually ;) like putting trash in the can or putting her crayons on the table etc

She is saying words that I didn't even know she would know and starting to say small sentences. The best phrase this week is "love you" as you leave or put her to bed (even said love you dada"...Awwww. 

More words that she just busted out this week are:

"Spider" (saw on TV and just said it)

"B" whenever she points to letters lol (though she will say ABC)

"Potty book" bc she loves this kid book on potty training lol

Wagon

"Shoes" and "socks" which she's sort of said for a while but now they are pronounced

"Broccoli" she loves it

"French fry"

"Calliou" which is a sprout cartoon and we gave some books

"Bike"

"Sucker"

Playroom shinanigans

Just because I took some pics of the kids hanging before bedtime. They are so much fun and I love watching their curious minds play!

Only 1 left in diapers!

Well we decided to give this a real whirl since he can't go into the preschool room till he's trained (and turn age 3 lol)...so last weekend we did it cold turkey...straight to undies and pullups only for nap and night time...well that did the trick! We are at 4 days no accidents (he's only had 4 total in 11 days so not bad at all), tells us when he has to go #1 or #2 but even tonight he just went in without telling us till after he was done! 

Good job kiddo!!!

Update 9/10: jack was out hanging with grandma at a store today and he said he had to go...and went there! This is a minor miracle bc he hates public bathrooms! He hates the flushing noises and even told her he didn't want to flush lol!

18 months

Ok not for another 2 days but she's most a year and half! Maybe by 2 years she will have hair long enough for a clip (though on first attempts she doesn't seem to like them which is odd bc she loves accessories like hats!)

She's talking like crazy and loves acting like her brother. She plays hide and seek, tries to count and closes her eyes lol. She is a righty (though at first we though leftie).

Mayors cookout

The bexley mayors cookout was Sunday... And it was HOT! But we had a really nice time. We rode our bikes there. It was at Jeffery park with bouncy houses, a climbing wall, cornhole tourney, fire and construction trucks, a band, and lots of food. A really nice way to end the summer.

So it's been over a month and I finally got some stuff on walls. Not done and needs a new fan but starting to look like a little girls room finally ;)
